Campaign Gremlin is live

Campaign Gremlin is a narrative campaign manager for tabletop miniatures wargames. It takes the busywork of running a campaign off your plate, then helps you turn the games you actually play into an unfolding story, for any system, at your group's own pace.

This first release is the whole core loop, and the core campaign management is free:

  • Run a campaign for your whole group. You are the GM; players join with a single shareable invite link, build and manage their own forces, and report their own results. One campaign, one set of standings, one shared story.
  • Bring any army, from any builder. Paste an army list or drop a screenshot and the Gremlin reads it into a structured force. Track whatever your game cares about with custom fields that persist on a unit, or across a whole force, as the campaign evolves.
  • Plan, play, and report battles. Set up a battle, play it on your own table under your own rules, then report who won. The Gremlin never decides the outcome.
  • Tell your campaign's story. Give it a narrative layer at every level: a premise for each battle, a shared after-action account, a Saga and Arc for every force, Legends for standout units, and a campaign-wide Chronicle. Write each one yourself, or let the Gremlin draft it from your real games. Every word is yours to edit.
  • A shared wiki and a public campaign page. Keep your group's house rules, schedule, and links in a per-campaign wiki, and publish a read-only public page of your campaign (standings, battles, forces, and the unfolding story) to share with a link.
  • Team and alliance campaigns. Forces can ally into teams of up to three, each with its own name and background, for leagues with a lot of players.

Not sure what that looks like? Browse the live example campaigns, no account needed: a Warhammer 40,000 Crusade, a BattleTech mercenary contract, and a Bolt Action push through the summer of 1944. They are linked from the home page.

Campaign Gremlin is built and run by one person, and the door is open. Join the Discord or drop a line by email (both are at the top of this page) to share feedback, report a bug, or just talk campaigns. More is on the way, and this is where I will post what is new and where the Gremlin is headed next.
